- Fenland worlds, interactive interpretation area about the traditions and lives of the people who used to live on the washes.
- Gift shop, cafe and toilet facilities. - Views over 200 acres of newly created wetlands. - In winter, watch wild swan feeds October-March from the comfort of the centrally-heated main observatory, accompanied by an expert talk by a warden. - In summer, watch breeding birds, insects and wildflowers April-September, and explore further reaches of the reserve on the summer walk (open once breeding bird season has finished). - Easy access footbridge to 6 hides (4 of which have easy access) looking out over 1000 acres of internationally important wetland habitat. - Dragonfly ponds and picnic area - 2 pond-dipping stations - Year round events programme, with kids activities every weekend and school holidays including arts & crafts and discovery trail out on the reserve.
Cafe open daily. Hot meals served Monday to Sunday, 12noon-2.30pm. Outside of lunchtime tea, coffee and cake available. Our menus incorporate seasonal food and flavours using only the tastiest ingredients, many of which are grown organically depending on seasonality. All our food is homemade and cooked on our premises.

WWT Welney is located 12 miles north of Ely, 26 miles north of Cambridge and 33 miles east of Peterborough. Tourist signage exists from the A1101 in the vicinity of Welney village and from the A10. Occasionally the A1101 between Welney Village and Suspension Bridge floods and is closed to cars, it is advised to call the centre adhead of visiting to check. Under such circumstances, access to WWT Welney is always possible from Ely or Downham Market, off the A10.
Parking and entrance to the visitor centre are FREE. For access to the reserve admission prices apply, entrance is free to members and children under 4 years old. Charges may apply to everyone for some activities/special events. Binoculars may be hired subject to availability. Wellingtons or sturdy shoes and waterproof clothing are essential if conditions are wet. We regret that no dogs are permitted onto the reserve other than guide dogs. Please note the reserve may be inaccessible at times
