Ullswater Steamers

"what are we doing today?"

Ullswater 'Steamers' offer the perfect opportunity to explore the area.

Referred to as the 'Dark Lake' in Arthurian legend, it is believed monsters used to live beneath the dark waters. Set sail with us on a voyage of discovery through the valley that holds the secrets of many amazing achievements. This valley hosts a host of wildlife hidden amongst our ancient woodlands and fells. We even have England's third highest mountain, Helvellyn, looming on the southern shore. If you are lucky it is your chance to spot some of our rarer species, such as red deer, red squirrels and goosanders.

Every junior passenger gets their very own Sammy Squirrel guide with top tips and I-spy game. You may get the chance to meet Sammy he is often out and about in the school holidays.

Feeling brave? Join us for some of our special event days: become a pirate, meet a monster from the deep at Halloween or shake hands with Sammy the Red Nosed Squirrel at Christmas!
