Meet around 650 animals from almost 150 species, including some of the most endangered on our planet, at Twycross Zoo! We are renowned as a specialist primate zoo and has a wide variety of monkeys and apes including the UKs only group of bonobos.
Set in more than 80 acres, immerse yourself in the Zoo's fascinating exhibits. Meet our family of endangered snow leopards in our Himalaya centre, including our two cubs; see our Asian elephants in their stunning Sri Lankan themed walkway; walk with our ring-tailed lemurs in their walk-through enclosure; see our giant tortoises sunbathing in their new grass area and watch our penguins take their daily parade. The Zoo also features its own Nature Reserve, providing a unique haven for visitors to soak up the great British wildlife our country has been blessed with!
Their new jungle-themed play area has lots of activities across four levels for endless entertainment, including a designated baby area for children aged 0 to 2, a toddler area for children aged 2 to 5, and a junior section for children aged 5 to 12.
On top of daily animal talks, outdoor play areas and a new indoor, and gardens, Twycross Zoo also boasts an action-packed calendar of events, providing everything for a wholesome, family friendly day out!
During 2015 the old Gibbon Habitat has been emptied so it can be built up into something even better for them opening later this year. Exciting!
Plus the world class Himalaya Centre delivers fantastic food in a 300 seat all day restaurant overlooking a Himalayan themed snow leopard enclosure; fabulous shopping, a new Soft Play attraction, and conference facilities in Windows on the Wild, bringing a host of fun and entertainment under one roof.
