Come face-to-face with over 900 animals of more than 150 species, including some of the most endangered on our planet, at Twycross Zoo!
Set in more than 80-acres, immerse yourself in some of the Zoo's fascinating exhibits including: the Borneo Longhouse, where a pathway winds through a sequence of exotic bird and animal exhibits surrounded by landscaped aquatic gardens and Uda Walawe, a Sri Lankan themed elephant walkway which gives stunning, uninterrupted views of four females Asian elephants.
Last year saw the unveiling of Bush Dog and Coati Island, new Owl Aviaries and Penguin Lagoon, whilst 2013 welcomes an Amur leopard exhibit, a lemur walk-through, a giant tortoise outdoor walk-about, Monkeys in Trees with emperor tamarins, and SO much more!
The Zoo also features its own Nature Reserve, providing a unique haven for visitors to soak up the great British wildlife our country has been blessed with!
The world-class Himalaya Centre delivers fantastic food in a 300 seat all-day restaurant overlooking a Himalayan themed snow leopard enclosure; fabulous shopping, unrivalled conference facilities in Windows on the Wild and fine art in Twycross Gallery.
We pride ourselves on bringing you great value quality food. Himalaya offers a delicious array of food and drnk featuring locally sourced ingredients from ethical suppliers. Our light bites and lunch menu offers a delicous selection of hot and cold food served daily. We also have great children's options, including lunchboxes, and favourites such as fish fingers and pasta bolognese. We also have cafes, ice-cream and drinks kiosks, and both outdoor and indoor picnic areas around the zoo itself.
We serve a great variety of healthy options including fresh fruits, yoghurt and juices. All our children's meals are served with fresh salad or vegetables.
For all your shopping needs visit the shop in the Himalaya where we have an array of toys, gifts and souvenirs, plus near enough every species of animal in cuddly toy form. We also stock a range of "day out essentials", so if the weather suddenly changes we have umbrellas and sun cream to purchase.
We have toilets in the Himalaya centre, and at various locations around the zoo. This also includes disabled toilets and baby change facitlies.
We do sell baby food and we have milk-warming facilities.
The Zoo is located on the A444, which can be accessed via the A5 and the M42 junction 11. Twycross Zoo is signposted on the brown attractions signs.
Twycross Zoo is an outdoor attraction, so we recommend wearing sensible shoes, and checking the weather before you leave.
