Trimontium Heritage Centre
The Trimontium Heritage Centre consists of a series of illustrated panels and modern artefact display cases; aerial photographs; artists' drawings; models; maps; the Newstead charger (to ride!); a blacksmith's workshop; a Roman kitchen and pottery; replica armour; and a video room, now showing a Roman Frontiers video of Hadrian's Wall and the Antonine Wall.
There are guided walks to the site each Thursday in season (with its wonderful views, and tea included - £3 adults, £2.50 concessions, children free, dogs welcome, 1.30pm-5.15pm).
