Trial a Bite Rock and Fossil Tours is a family run business that offers guided rock and fossil hunting trips in southeast Britain.

All our guides are both H&S first aid trained and have a current CRB/Police check.

Come and look for dinosaur footprints, fossil shells, shark and fish teeth, ammonites and fossil plants. We can supply all the equipment you need (hammers, chisels, safety glasses etc) to find and collect fossils for you to take home.

At present we offer family trips to Hastings and Eastbourne (Sussex) and Folkestone, Samphire Hoe and Reculver (Kent). But please do check our website for an expanding list of fossil hunting sites.

Our tours are suitable for small parties, groups, bithday parties and birthday treats. If you wish us to participate in a birthday party event please contact to discuss your needs.

We cater for people with all levels of experience.

Food is available at some venues, in commercially run establishments, such as cafe's fish and chip shops etc.

What is available is dependant on what venue is chosen.

Healthy eating options may be available at the various restaurants and cafes that may be present at each site.

Only on site public lavatories are available, with various facilities such as baby change, RADAR etc. These facilities are dependant of the venue chosen. Please contact us for details.

Baby food or milk warming facilities may be available at the various restaurants and cafes that may be present at each site.

As we offer trips to different venues, we will send you directions including a map and a description of the facilities available at your chosen venue, or we will rendezvous at an agreed meeting place and escort you the rest of the way.

Most venues are reachable by mainline railway and bus.

Scrambling about on rocks is fun, but can ruin clothes, so please wear old clothes that you do not mind getting drty and scuffed. Please wear long trousers, not skirts or shorts, as they will not protect you from scrapes against rocks. Please wear wellies, stout trainers or walking boots to protect your feet and dont forget the sunscreen and a hat (hopefully!).
