It may be worth checking out Totnes Rare Breeds Farm's website to see if there are any special events or seasonal fun things to do that may be going on during the day.
We do strongly suggest you contact Totnes Rare Breeds Farm before you set off on your family day out, just to make sure they are open and to confirm admission prices, as there is nothing worse than disappointed kids in the back of your car after a long journey.

Think green! Totnes Rare Breeds has no on-site parking. Public car parks are located in Totnes, with the farm a picturesque 400m walk from the mainline station, over the River Dart: follow brown signs. The walk is also a cycle path, and bikes can be left outside the café. Busses (and trains) stop at the mainline station.
Or travel to us by steam train on the South Devon Railway. Joint tickets available.
...got any top tips?
We are fully friendly for buggies and special need visitors. Sorry, no dogs in the farm but they are welcome in the garden cafe area on secure leads. Wellies are always fun, but not essential. Should the weather turn British, there are plenty of undercover areas. Travel to us by steam train on a joint ticket. Remember to ask for peanuts to feed the red squirrels!

What are people saying?
If you've had fun on your family day out to Totnes Rare Breeds Farm, tell us about your visit so other people will know it's a great place to go as well.Good for a half day
Our 4 year old and 2 year old loved it but only enough to sustain a half day visit. Make sure you ask staff about getting a closer look with the animals. Smoothing owls was the highlight. Parking a long way from the attraction (good 10-15 min walk). Ignore google map navigation - takes you to the middle of nowhere and nowhere to turn around in the narrow LANES!
