Welcome to ThinkTank Birmingham Science Museum, a hub of curiosity and innovation located in the heart of England. As one of the most popular attractions in Birmingham City Centre. This interactive museum offers visitors a captivating journey through science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). With over 200 displays on science its got a wide range of exhibits and hands-on experiences.

Explore everything from steam engines to intestines, then see aircraft and learn about robots! ThinkTank ignites imaginations with plenty of activities for children. We think this makes learning about science an enjoyable and memorable experience.

Things to Do at ThinkTank Birmingham

Families will have an amazing time exploring over 4 floors! This amazing space is packed full of enlightening and fun displays, including learning about space and the night sky in a variety of shows at the incredible 4K Planetarium. find out how mechanics and transportation work at the outdoor Science Garden. Plus, your little ones can explore their own mini city MiniBrum, featuring a transport zone, shops, homes, park, construction site and sensory areas for babies.

Discover Birmingham's Industrial Past and Birmingham Stories from Days Gone By

Give your kids the magic of travelling back in time. Marvel at the Smethwick Engine. A  winner of a Birmingham Museum Trust's object of the month award, this is the oldest working steam engine in the world, dating back to 1779. Then, in the Spitfire gallery see planes from yesteryear and discover how they were flown and the important part the Spitfire played in World War 2. Did you know that Birmingham's Castle Bromwich factory produced over 10,000 Spitfires? Find out more about the men and women who helped get this iconic planes in the sky.

Science Garden

One of the highlights of ThinkTank Birmingham Museum is the Science Garden, an outdoor space filled with interactive exhibits that showcase the wonders of physics, biology, and engineering. We think you won't want to miss this! Visitors can explore giant catapults, water play areas, and even a human-sized hamster wheel. Yes really! 

Dinosaurs

Located on Level 2 come face to face with fossils, skeletons and wildlife in impressive displays. Do you dare to meet a Jurassic Crocodile or look in the eye of a giant deer-one of the largest deers to ever walk the earth?

Food options at ThinkTank Birmingham 

Feeling peckish after all your amazing discoveries? Don't worry there's plenty of food options at ThinkTank. At The Signal Box Cafe you can enjoy a a selection of hot and cold meals. We recommend you don't miss trying the tasty signature Signal Box Burger. You can also pick up sandwiches, sweet treats and drinks. In a hurry? Signal Box Cafe has a takeaway service. 

You also find a variety of different types of food served at Mini Brum Coffee Corner and Platform 2 Kiosk. Tuck into savoury snacks and refreshments.
