The Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre
The Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre is a fun and fact-packed inspirational day out for the whole family, situated in the village where Roald Dahl lived and wrote for 36 years.
There are two biographical galleries where you will discover all the real-life experiences that shaped your favourite stories and the squiffling Story Centre where imaginations run wild as visitors get busy filling up their Ideas Books (issued on arrival), creating characters, making movies, dressing up and exploring Roald Dahls replica Writing Hut.
Theres a crodsquinkling craft room to get messy in and on weekends and during school holidays we offer phizz whizzing workshops including chocolate decorating, poetry, mask making, cooking, animation and scientific experiments, not to mention free, noisy story telling from the wacky staff.
Cafe Twit serves are wide range of fresh coffee, teas, homemade paninis, toasted sandwiches, baked potatoes, soups, cakes, muffins and other delumptious treats, all made onsite with fresh, local ingredients.
All of the food served in Cafe Twit is fresh and homemade, vegetarian options are available and the staff are able to tailor any orders to fit special requirements, just ask at the counter.
The Museum shop is a treasure trove of beautiful books and Dahl-related goodies, souvenirs and gifts, from activities sets, games and toys to fine bone china mugs, hand-painted character figurines and limited edition Quentin Blake prints. There something for everyone and every price range.
The whizzpopping facilities include disabled toilets and separate baby changing/feeding room.
The cafe is happy to provide hot water for you to warm up baby milk.
