The Pitt Rivers Museum
Pitt Rivers Museum offers FREE drop-in family events that take place on the first Saturday of every month, every Sunday and for a set time during school holidays. Please contact the museum for further details.
Unfortunately we do not have a café and due to the exhibits cannot allow food to be eaten within the museum. There are many places to get refreshments within a 5 minute walk and also a lawn at the front of the museum if you would like to bring a picnic.
The shop has objects from all around the world that reflect the collection itself. We also offer a range of Pitt Rivers souvenirs, books, postcards and items from fairtrade community projects.
Currently visitors can use the toilets, disabled toilet and baby change in the Museum adjoined to us. From early 2007 we will have our own facilities.
The Pitt Rivers museum is located in the centre of Oxford, enter through the Oxford University Museum of Natural History on Parks Road. This road is easily accessible from the London Road (A420) or Banbury Road (A4165).
Unfortunately the Museum has limited open space and no cloakroom. We are happy for you to bring buggies etc as we try to accommodate everyone as we are very family friendly.
If you've had fun on your family day out to The Pitt Rivers Museum, tell us about it your visit, so other people will know it's a great place to go as well.
