The Nature Discovery Centre is a great family day out.

With adventure playgrounds, lakeside walks and interactive wildlife displays, there's something for everyone. The newly refurbished Centre boasts a whole host of sustainable features. Learn how our rain water harvesting system works and check out the mighty bio-fuel boiler!

Explore the interactive wildlife games and learn about the local wildlife and natural history of the lake and reedbeds through our amazing displays. Fish tanks let you see what lives in the lake and seasonal tanks are full of exciting creatures for you to see.

The Nature Discovery Centre runs a programme of events throughout the year such as Wildlife Explorer Days where you can learn bush skills, reptile days, bird box making, arts and crafts to name but a few. We also run events for adults such as gardening master classes.

The Nature Discovery Centre is a short drive from Newbury town centre. If coming from the M4, take junction 12 and head towards Newbury along the A4. The Nature Discovery Centre is signposted from the A4. Thatcham train station is approximately 1.5 miles.

Disabled access and lift to the gallery area. Free entry and car parking. Baby changing facilities. Dogs on leads welcome. Café and gift shop. Picnic tables around the lake.
