The Denes Beach at Southwold
The Denes Beach at Southwold
More isolated feeling than nearby Pier Beach this is a quiet sand and shingle dune backed beach where the water is safe for swimming, canoeing and body boarding.
Lifeguard cover is from June to September.
A small ferry takes boatloads of people between Southwold and Walberswick in the summer, the crabbing is infinitely better on the Walberswick side. Dogs welcome between October and April but must be kept on a lead at all times.
Telephone contact is for the local tourist information centre.
