The Clifton Suspension Bridge
A Visitor Centre by the Leigh Woods toll booth on the Bridge gives information about the history of the Bridge, how it was built and how it is looked after today.
You can also buy activity packs, books, postcards and souvenirs.
Fun guided tours are available for schools and groups at any time by arrangement (we sometimes use a stovepipe hat and cigar !). In the summer at weekends there are free guided tours. Go to the Bridge website for details.
There are plenty of cafes and pubs nearby in Clifton village. There is a large grassy area to picnic and a playground. There is often an ice cream van next to the Bridge!
Postcards, souvenirs, books and activity packs about the Bridge, Brunel and the Victorians. (Good for school projects !)
Toilets on the Clifton side – ok for wheelchairs and buggies but no ‘special’ facilities.
On the 8/8A bus route and in summer on the Open Top Bus route. Get off at Clifton Village.
Watch out for the traffic !
