"what are we doing today?"

The Big Sheep prides itself in having facilities for all ages.

With our on site Brewery attracting many Dads and our Garden Centre stimulating the senses of Mums and Grandparents. The kids will run wild in the indoor playground and everyone will be educated during the day's sheepy shows.
Educational shows are presented all day long with the first show starting at 11 and the last show at 4:30. Daily shows running are; the hilarious Sheep Racing, the Ram Show, Bottle feeding of our orphaned lambs, Shearing, Duck Trails, Sheep Dog Trials and Training and Horse Whispering. Animal handling opportunities are available all day in our large undercover barn.
Pony rides and Farm Safari rides run daily. (please telephone in advance to confirm times.)
The South West Mountain Boarding Centre is adjacent to The Big Sheep with large discounts available to Big Sheep customers to hire the safety equipment and mountain board.

"i'm hungry"

Shepherds Restaurant: serves traditional homemade hot and cold food. Scrumptious Devon cream teas, traditional Cornish pasties, vegetable and meat lasagnes, selection of filled baguettes, sandwiches, jacket potatoes. Selection of homemade deserts such as cakes, tray bakes and tarts. Ewetopia Indoor Playground serves hot fast food. Everything served with chips. Homemade Pizza, Hot Dogs, Burgers, Chicken Nuggets, Vegetarian Bean Burgers, Scampi etc. Ice Cream Kiosk also selling local ice cream.

healthy food

Healthy eating is available from both of our restaurants. More so in our traditional Shepherds Restaurant but we do accommodate where we can. Vegetarian options available in both Restaurants

"Can I have one of those?"

Our Sheepy Shop sells a variety of gifts such as cuddly animal toys, farm books and drawing materials, adult and child clothing; Pachamama, Flying dodo. Locally produced Jams, preserves and cookies. and a selection of crockery. Abbeycombe Plant Centre sells a variety of plants from all over the world which will stimulate your senses. The BIG Sheep Country Life Brewery sells a selection of on site brewed ales and locally produced ciders.

"i need a wee"

Two sets of Male and Female Toilets. One by our Indoor playground and another in our main building. Two Baby Changing Facilities. Two disabled access toilets.

Microwaves or hot water facilities in both restaurants.

"are we there yet?"

It's easy to find us: On the A39 Atlantic Highway, 2 minutes west of the new Bideford Bridge. Look out for the Flag! Public transport from Barnstaple Town Centre or Bude Town Centre is the 319 Bus. Ask the driver nicely and he'll stop right outside, otherwise it's just a 3 minutes walk from the village, Abbotsham.
