Tate Britain

"what are we doing today?"

Tate Britain offers a range of activities for children and adults to explore together.

These include any-time activities for families with children, plus drop-in and ticketed special activities for weekends and school holidays.

At Tate Britain the Art Trolley is open every weekend throughout the year, and everyday this August! Visit and discover imaginative and weird and wonderful materials. You can build a sculpture, draw something that catches your eye or even create a pretty collage.

Pose for a picture with your art work and then check out Tate's website to see if your work has been published online.

"i'm hungry"

Tate is currently running a lunchtime offer where kids can eat for free in the Tate Britain Restaurant. The main course from the kids menu is free when an accompanying adult purchases a main course from the respective a la carte menu.

This offer is valid at lunchtimes only, for children aged 12 or under, and is for one child eating with an accompanying adult in the Tate Britain restaurant.

The offer is available until 30 August 2009 and subject to availability.

"Can I have one of those?"

For an unsurpassed collection of books about British art, history and culture through the ages, visit the main shop near the Millbank entrance.

There are also gifts and souvenirs featuring works from the collection, as well as prints, posters and postcards. Our art materials are ever popular, as is the imaginative selection of books, games and gifts for children.

"i need a wee"

We are fully equipped for your visit. We have baby changing facilities at each site and all our galleries have cloakrooms with buggy parking.

"are we there yet?"

Tate Britain is located on the north bank of the River Thames at Millbank, south west of the city centre and not far from the Houses of Parliament.

The nearest tube stations are Pimlico (Victoria Line) Vauxhall (Victoria Line) and Westminster (Jubilee, District and Circle Lines).
