Stow on the Wold Treasure Trail

"what are we doing today?"

Stow on the Wold Treasure Trails' treasure hunts are a fantastic way to explore a new town or village whilst enjoying a fun walk in the fresh air.

Children love competing to solve the clues and don't even realise they are learning about the area and getting some exercise!

The answers to the clues are located on existing monuments, buildings and structures ‚– some are easy to find, some are a little bit trickier! You can choose to solve a mystery, go on a treasure hunt or crack the code to save the world in a spy mission.

After you have completed the Trail you can enter your answer online to be in with a chance of winning a cash prize!

Many of our Trails are suitable for wheelchairs however the Trail in Stow-on-the-Wold includes two brief stretches on rural pathways which make it unsuitable for anything other than light pushchairs.

"i'm hungry"

There are many restaurants, cafes and pubs along the Stow on the Wold Trail route giving you lots of choice for eating and drinking.

"i need a wee"

There are public toilets along the route with baby changing facilities.

"are we there yet?"

The Trail starts in the centre of Stow-on-the-Wold, which is reached by road on the A429. Limited parking is available in the Market Square but is restricted to 2 hours which, although probably long enough to complete the Treasure Trail, would leave no time to enjoy the many other delights of this popular Cotswold town. Alternative free and unlimited parking is available a short walk away on the edge of town, adjacent to the superstore which is well signposted. Several buses stop in Stow on the Wold, operated by Pulham.

...got any top tips?

Trails take around two hours to complete and can be downloaded and printed at home or ordered as a booklet to be posted from the Treasure Trails website. Going on holiday? Why not order a couple of Trails before you go? You'll have lots of fun and will see a lot more of the local area.

Contact the Treasure Trails Office for information about Treasure Hunt parties and group events.
