Having read an article advertising the 'Day Out with the Kids' website we found the above place which was just under an hour away from us. It was marvellous and we will certainly be re-visiting! Our children are 5 and 2 and Stanwick Lakes was perfect for them.

There are various wooden climbing frames with slides, ropes etc which would suit many ages. Waterways that provide many hours of paddling, splashing, and general pottering! Sand pits, tunnels the lot. The lakes are undertaking construction of a visitor centre but is still easy accessible. The car parking is only £2 for the day which is marvellous! If reading this review - just remember to take wellies and spare clothes as going in the water made our kids day! Well worth a visit!
