Join notorious smuggler ‘Hairy Jack’ as he leads you through the underground caverns, passages and tunnels on a voyage back through time to the heyday of smuggling.

More than 70 life-size characters, interactive displays, eerie lighting and sound effects and dramatic recreations bring this mysterious and often bloody world vividly to life – but beware there are surprises lying in wait round every dark corner...

Relive the dangers and excitement that faced the smugglers and Customs officers when around 40,000 men were involved in this illicit, highly profitable but extremely dangerous trade on the south and south east coasts of England alone.

Learn the tricks of the trade in the interactive games area, enjoy an illustrated history in our subterranean theatre and come face to face with real artefacts in the fascinating smuggling museum.

The A259 leads you to Hastings Seafront. You can drive close to the attraction by heading to Castle Hill Road and Priory Road. If on foot, use the West Hill Cliff Railway or pathways from high Street or George Street to take you to the top of the hill and follow signs to the attraction. Near to Hastings train station.

Smugglers Adventure is built into the caves, so there are some stairs and steep slopes. Enter at your own risk! Buggies are not allowed in the caves, but there is a pushchair park and baby slings available.

WARNING: this attraction contains 70 life size figures, eerie sounds and thunder - if your kids are easily scared, this might not be the best place for you.
