They are safe to handle: they do not carry diseases which might infect humans. Indeed the mucous they produce is thought to have antibacterial properties; snail slime is used to manufacture skin creams!

We are registered with Kent Children's University as a Learning Destination. There is a workbook if you want to get your passport stamped together with paper and crayons for drawing and colouring or writing about snails. Some days there are snail races or the opportunity to take part in a quiz or make miniature gardens.

There's lots to do at Brogdale with the Marketplace shops and café and the new children's play area. On Sundays the miniature railway takes passengers on a scenic ride and of course there's the National Fruit Collection to see and Grow plant centre where you can buy heritage trees. You can visit the rare breed woolly pigs and then come through Grow plant centre to visit Slow Summer Snail Farm.

"are we there yet?"

Brogdale Farm is signposted from the A2 and that is where Slow Summer Snail Farm is located. Faversham railway station is approximately 1 mile away; unfortunately there is no public bus service along Brogdale Road; taxis usually cost about £5.00 each way. If you prefer walking the walk is flat with footpaths all the way. Free car parking on site. After parking, walk through the marketplace to Grow garden centre and we are located at the back.
