Shipwreck Museum
Shipwreck Museum
Come and explore the wrecks of the Dutch East Indiaman Amsterdam and the Warship Anne the best known surviving vessel from Samuel Pepys' Restoration Navy.
Travel back in time to 1749 when the Amsterdam was wrecked on the Hastings shore and was quickly swallowed up by the beach.
This is a story of storm, mutiny and wrecking. See the treasures from both wrecks and go on guided walks to the Amsterdam herself when tides permit.
Enter the world of the dinosaurs and travel back nearly 140 million years. Get to know more about what life was like back then during the Cretaceous period. See dinosaur footprints and strange fossils as well as the finely-preserved head of Lepidotes, a 138 million year old fish – still with its teeth! Find out how you can discover your own dinosaur remains on the local beach.
If you've had fun on your family day out to Shipwreck Museum, tell us about it your visit, so other people will know it's a great place to go as well.
