Attraction Information
Lots of things to do for kids and a lot of it dinosaur related: mega bonus!! Opened in 1904, the Sedgwick Museum of Earth Sciences has its origins in the early 18th century, and includes specimens donated from important figures such as Charles Darwin and Mary Anning. It's fascinating fare for school age kids and curious smalls!
The Museum is responsible for around 1.5 million fossil, rock and mineral specimens from around the world, encompassing more than 500 million years of Earth's history.
When you leave, ask for a map at reception and check out The Cambridge Geology Trail. This new self-guided walk around the historic city centre will introduce you to just a few of the many different rock types, fossils, minerals and geological features that are waiting to be discovered in the walls, roofs and pavements of Cambridge!
