Scottish Seabird Centre

"what are we doing today?"

The five star Scottish Seabird Centre is perched on the Firth of Forth, overlooking the sandy beaches of North Berwick.

With something for all ages, the Discovery Centre is an adventure to remember, come rain or shine! The world leader in remote wildlife viewing, visitors can get up close and personal with amazing wildlife via interactive cameras that beam incredible live close-ups of seabirds and other marine wildlife from the nearby islands onto giant screens. Open all year, there's different wildlife to look out for throughout the seasons from puffins to porpoises, gannets to guillemots and seals to shags.

You can discover even more in the wildlife cinema, Kids' Zone (soft play area), aquaria and Environment Zone.

There is also the chance to indulge in some retail therapy in the excellent gift shop and seasonal local produce in the popular cafe.

From March to October (weather permitting) the Centre's Seabird Seafari wildlife boat trips run to the world famous Bass Rock (the world's largest single island gannet colony) and the Isle of May National Nature Reserve.

...got any top tips?

North Berwick is a great place to spend the day - with beaches, shops, harbour, activities, cafes, etc. Bring changes of clothes and wellies. It makes a great day out to come by train - as the short train journey is fun for kids too and it's great value!
