See iconic objects from Stephenson's Rocket to the Apollo 10 command module, catch a 3D IMAX movie, take a ride on our simulators, visit an exhibition, and encounter the past, present and future of technology in seven floors of free galleries, including the Museum's famous hands-on galleries where children can have fun investigating science with our dedicated Explainer.

Visit the science museum website for details of free holiday events and workshops. Guided tours of the main galleries, such as Space and Making the Modern World, available throughout the day (suitable for most ages) - ask staff on arrival or look out for notices in the galleries.
Self service café and waiter-service restaurant on site. Snack shop and picnic areas also available.

Milk can be warmed on request. Baby food is not sold, however a children's menu is available for older children.

The Science Museum is free to enter however charges apply for the IMAX 3D Cinema, simulators and some special exhibitions. Pre-booking advised during school holidays.
Access to the most popular children's galleries such as Launch Pad, The Garden and Pattern Pod can be restricted during peak times and you may be asked to wait until space becomes available. It is advisable to visit these galleries during the quietest times of the day, between 10.00-11.30 and 16.00-18.00. The cafes can also become very busy at peak times, therefore it is recommended that you avoid 12.30-14.00 during weekends or school holidays. Baby changing and disabled toilet facilities available
