Scarborough North Bay Railway
Now celebrating our 80th year, we have been operating trains since 1931, taking passengers from Peasholm Park to Scalby Mills stations, offering beautiful views of Scarborough's North Bay.
The line operated by the North Bay Railway Company Ltd, offers a wide range of attractions as well as the railway, including the Glass House Bistro, Boating Lake and Historic Water Chute.
Children's events take place throughout the year including Santa Specials, Themed Weekends, (Teddy Bear's Express, Hallowscreen)
Group Bookings (12 or over) for schools and clubs are most welcome - (pre-booking not essential).
Glass House Bistro - award winning cafe bar and bistro serving the best food and drink on the East Coast From 'Buffers Tea Coach' at Scalby Mills, serving coffee, tea, soup, soft drinks, crisps, chocolate bars and biscuits.
Gift shop stocking flags, badges, model trains, toys, games, postcards and novelty items.
Toilet facilities at Peasholm Park Station.
Follow the brown tourist signs for 'North Bay Leisure Parks'. For Scalby Mills follow the signs to 'Sea Life Centre'. For Peasholm Park Station use car park marked 'Atlantis'. The railway is over the main road.
Wrap up warm, as the sea breeze can be chilly, especially in the winter months. Disabled access and wheelchair spaces available on all trains. Buggy friendly.
We spent Saturday afternoon in Peasholme Park and the kids absolutely loved it.
We first took a trip on the North Bay Railway down to Scalby Mills (where you can also take in the Sealife Centre), followed by the Naval Gun Battle which has been running since 1927 - where 20ft replica boats recreate the tensions of a battle at sea.
There are also great dragon boats to take a ride on it the massive boating lake.
Hey, there is so much to do, just get yourself along here, the kids will love it.
