It hosts numerous events throughout the year, including: the Guernsey Friends of the Anthony Nolan Trust Easter Egg Hunt; the Guernsey Classic Vehicle Club Show; the Old Guernsey Market or La Viaer Marchi and the North Show and Battle of Flowers.

The largest public park in Guernsey, it is very popular with families, with many facilities for young and old.

Attractions include:
* a large adventure playground for toddlers to teens
* the National Trust of Guernsey Folk Museum
* Walled Kichen Garden (currently being restored by the Guernsey Botanical Trust)
* formal gardens including a rose garden
* a Japanese Fishing Hut, pond and Japanese walk
* tea rooms and bouncy castle
* collections of plants from the Far East including camellia and bamboo.

As well as being an important social venue, the Park and the adjacent Saumarez Nature Trail also provide valuable habitat for a wide range of wildlife and are sympathetically managed to maintain their rich biodiversity.
