Robin Hood’s Major Oak Treasure Trail is a fantastic way to explore a new town or village whilst enjoying a fun walk in the fresh air.

Children love competing to solve the clues and don’t even realise they are learning about the area and getting some exercise!

The answers to the clues are located on existing monuments, buildings and structures: some are easy to find, some are a little bit trickier which is when the adults get to have some fun too!

After you have completed the Trail you can enter your answer online to be in with a chance of winning a cash prize.

There are many restaurants, cafes and pubs along the Robin Hood’s Major Oak Treasure Trail route giving you lots of choice for eating and drinking.

There are public toilets along the route with baby changing facilities.

The Robin Hood’s Major Oak Treasure Trail starts at the public car park, off Mansfield Road in front of St Mary’s Church gates in Edwinstowe. From the A6075 Mansfield to Ollerton road follow signs for Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre.

Robin Hood’s Major Oak Treasure Trail takes around two and a half hours to complete and is approximately 2.5 miles long. The Trail is suitable for light pushchairs; there is a short flight of steps to descend near the start. It can be downloaded and printed at home or ordered as a booklet and posted from the Treasure Trails website. Unsuitable for wheelchair users.
