Princes Park

Princes Park holds several differing elements that will delight the kids but it's still worth taking a few old favourites along too, be they bat and ball type fare or mini beast safari kit! Great however for a fun little day trip with no silly touristy stuff to distract them!

The central feature of the park is a large artificial lake where local model yachts and powerboats are often raced by 2 local clubs, but at other times you may see groups of swans swimming freely. Nearby, Spray Watersports teach sailing and windsurfing skills to all ages from 6 years old upwards!

Lakeside terraced paths are provided with seating and there are lawns and a large scented rose garden for picnicking and informal recreation. Children's Adventure playgrounds are situated at each end of the lake, so there's a treat at either end! There's also the Pistachios in the Park cafe in case you don't want to take a picnic or you run out of coffee!

Princes Park is 2012 through 2015 Green Flag awarded with a strong aim for this year too, so it's the figurative cream of the crop in terms of floral displays, landscaping and welcoming spaces. It's worth noting that there are bowling greens and a putting course located near the cafe and also that the park is on the seafront Dotto train route during the season, so why not add a little jaunt to your day out at the seaside playground!
