Potter Around is a pottery painting and craft studio located in Kirknewton on the outskirts of Edinburgh close to Livingston.

Try your hand at painting ceramics.

You paint and we’ll glaze and fire. Become a budding artist on canvas or join in our textile courses.

Come to one of our special events such as Ready Teddy Go when we paint Pudsey Bears for Children in Need. At Christmas, visit our Santa’s Secret Workshop where children can make a present for friends and relatives with a little help from the elves. All year round paint your baby’s hand or footprint onto a plate, photo frame, heart or bauble and treasure it forever. Helpful friendly staff are on hand to help you with lots of fun and laughter.

Our warm and welcoming countryside studio is open 7 days a week. Children love our specially decorated children’s room which is available as a party venue.

Potter Around provides tea, coffee and soft drinks to people taking part in our activities for free. Potter Around will arrange catering for parties and groups from local caterers if booked in advance.

Potter Around sells arts and crafts by local artists and its own handpainted range of gifts, including personalised piggy banks, name plaques, photo frames and christening gifts.

One toilet available which contains baby changing station, toddler step and toddler loo seat.

We have milk warming facilities.

Potter Around is easily accessible by car and public transport. Potter Around is a short walk from Kirknewton railway station. The 424 bus from Juniper Green to Kirkton and the 28 from Edinburgh to Bathgate stop at the bottom of our farm lane. Potter Around is on the B7031- about a mile off the A70 and half a mile off the A71. Plenty of parking.

Potter Around is situated in the countryside - bring your wellies to enjoy the numerous walks around the studio outdoors. Wheelchair access from one door; steps from another. We are approached by a farm lane.
