New Quay Harbour
New Quay Harbour
There are three safe and sandy beaches and a harbour in the small fishing port of New Quay.
Harbour beach is particularly pleasant and has golden sands, safe swimming and a lifeguard patrol in the summer. It's also one of the best places in Wales to try spotting bottlenose dolphins, as a pod of 130 reside in the bay and can often be seen playing and hunting.
There are daily cruises along the coast to Bird's Rock, The Caves and Seals' Bay to see porpoises, grey seals and numerous species of birds.
Check out Cardigan Bay Watersports Centre near the harbour, who can teach you to sea kayak, surf, sail, powerboat and windsurf.
Immediate facilities for Harbour beach include toilets with showers and baby changing, shops, cafes and a slipway.
If you've had fun on your family day out to New Quay Harbour, tell us about it your visit, so other people will know it's a great place to go as well.
