Needles Park Sand Cliffs
The Needles Park is the Isle of Wight's premier visitor attraction and is situated at Alum Bay overlooking the Island's most famous landmark, The Needles Rocks and Lighthouse.
Every year, nearly half a million people visit to view these jagged chalk stacks and lighthouse, the unique multi coloured sand cliffs and enjoy the Park's facilities, including the spectacular chairlift.
The Needles and Alum Bay first became popular with tourists over 200 years ago, and in Victorian times the area attracted large numbers of visitors who travelled from the mainland by paddle steamer.
Had lots of fun here i liked the idea of not paying an entrance charge per person as i had a elderly relative tagging along with us that wouldnt want to go on most things, we ended up going on the chair lift to the beach and were surprized to see they did boat trips round the needles there! so we all hopped aboard the high speed rib boat it cost £9 per person but was a great experience and i really recommend we all loved it from age 6 to 74 ! (there was a cheaper option on the slow boat) there was also a street act entertainer layed on which was really good and involved the kids even the reluctant ones!
we spent about £90 on this day here but based on 6 people i dont think it was bad as this included food, ice creams & coffee out and kids went on everything!
Bit of advice take a warm cardi as even in the summer it blows a hooly out there!!
