Built in 1889 to house the private natural history collection of Walter Rothschild, the Natural History Museum at Tring is a fascinating ‘Noah’s ark’ in the Hertfordshire countryside.

Our Zebra Café offers coffee and snacks, light lunches and afternoon tea. There are also two outdoor picnic areas, one close to the Museum building and the other a short walk away, across Park Street. Our shop stocks an excellent range of gifts and souvenirs including books, jewellery, soft toys and models, all with a natural history theme. We also offer a specialist books ordering service. Open from 10.00, Monday to Saturday and from 14.00 on Sundays.

Tring is on the A41, 11 kilometres from Aylesbury, eight kilometres from Berkhamsted, 19 kilometres from Hemel Hempstead and 53 kilometres from London. The Museum is in Akeman Street, a turning off Tring High Street and has a free car park. Regular trains and buses run to Tring from most major towns in the area. The Museum is about three kilometres from Tring railway station.
