"what are we doing today?"

MOSI is a fascinating and fun day out for all the family.

Located on the historic site of the world's oldest surviving passenger railway station, housed in five listed buildings, MOSI's fascinating galleries and outstanding collections tell the story of Manchester's scientific and industrial past, present and future.

Here are just some of the many exciting things to see and do at MOSI. In fact there is so much going on that one trip might not be enough!

Have fun in Experiment! our great hands-on science centre Experience the sights, sounds and smells of working cotton machinery in the Textiles Gallery and engines in the Power Hall Find out about the dramatic history of flight in the Air & Space Hall Go back in time to the living conditions of nineteenth century Manchester and walk through an authentic Victorian sewer Watch a film in our great 4d theatre - with moving seats, air blast and more!

To get to MOSI (Museum of Science & Industry): The Museum entrance is on Lower Byrom street, just off Liverpool Road in Castlefield, minutes from Manchester city centre. By Road: It is clearly signposted from all main routes to the city centre. Simply follow the brown tourist signs. The nearest motorways are M602 and M60. Car parking is available at £5.00 (after 9am), £3.00 after 3pm. During school holidays the car park may be busy: please arrive early to avoid disappointment. By Train: Nearest railway station - Deansgate. By Tram: Nearest Metrolink (tram) station - Deansgate-Castlefield. By Bus: Bus No 33 from Piccadilly Gardens stops outside the Museum on Liverpool Road. The Museum is served by the free city centre Metro Shuttle Bus service No.2
