Mother Shipton’s Cave is an active destination for children.

All children 4 and over get a trail quiz, 10 questions as they walk through the Park. When completed they win a chocolate bar!

There are audio boxes in the Cave and in front of the Petrifying Well that has a childrens’ version, there is a statue in a dark corner of the cave that always gives the kids a fright.

The museum is entertaining rather than formal with life size figures including Mother Shipton.

Kids love making a wish and getting their hand wet. With the 2 adventure playgrounds as well it’s a great family day out.

Can get a little muddy during prolonged wet periods in spring and autumn, recommend wellies if leaving the main pathways.

There are a number of steps involved where buggies may have to be carried.
