Moors Valley Country Park

"what are we doing today?"

Just a few minutes walk from the Visitor Centre is the Adventure Play Area for older children and a special Castle and Sand Area for toddlers.

From the play areas we cross the picnic area to the picturesque Moors Lake alongside which runs the narrow-gauge steam railway that will take you on a mile long journey through the park.

Heading out into the Forest there is the Play Trail with its 8 wooden play structures including the 'Giant Ants' Nest', 'Snakes and Ladders' and the 'Spiders Web'. There is also the opportunity to walk on the Tree Top Trail ‚– a 200 metre wooden walkway through the tops of the trees. For the more adventurous there is the Go Ape! high wire adventure course.

...got any top tips?

They have a play trail for younger children, the tree top trail and the little steam train to go for a ride on. There is a big lake to walk around and a cycle trail. You can pick up a nature trail from the visitors centre or do orienteering there and there are often special events there like Easter egg trails and things.. - Tina Scotney / Jan 08
