Milton Keynes City Discovery Centre

"what are we doing today?"

Milton Keynes City Discovery Centre aims to involve people in different aspects of Milton Keynes’ history, from the Roman and Medieval, to the new town that begun in the 1960s.

We hold events through the year, including exhibitions, workshops and guided walks, culminating in our exciting Medieval Family Fun Day in September.

Our events are fun and family-friendly and most are either free or low-cost.

Check out our website for further details.

"i'm hungry"

Many of our events will have refreshments available, from drinks and cakes to a hog roast – this will vary depending on the nature of the event. We also have several convenience and fast food outlets surrounding the site.

"Can I have one of those?"

MKCDC sells a range of books relating to the history of Milton Keynes. At key events, we sell souvenirs such as small medieval solders, replica coins and so on, at a reasonable price.

"i need a wee"

MKCDC has disabled toilets.

"are we there yet?"

Milton Keynes City Discovery Centre has ample visitor parking. Our centre is not open to the public full-time so please check event details before coming. The beautiful outdoor space on-site free and open to access. Picnics are welcome on site. MKCDC strive to make as much of the site accessible as possible. As a Scheduled Ancient Monument, some of the historic buildings do have one step to enter.
