The Watercress Line's special events for children for 2011 include: Day out with Thomas in 16-25 April and 6-14 August and Santa Specials 3,4,10,11,17-24 December plus loads more besides! and we are also open weekends through to November, plus Public Holidays, half-terms and selected mid-week days from May to September.

The West Country Buffet at the Watercress Line at Alresford provides locally sourced refreshments; whilst Ropley has an attractive picnic area and light refreshments available (seasonal) from the 'T-Junction'.

Our shops at Alton, Ropley and Alresford stock loads of stuff! Thomas the Tank engine fans are well catered for plus lots of interesting books and models: basically anything train related!

Toilet facilities available at all stations: baby changing rooms at Alresford and Alton.

There is a free supervised buggy park at Ropley during our Thomas events. There are of course toilets on all trains and at all stations. We have nappy changing facilities at our Alresford and Alton stations and in at least two places at Ropley station. For nursing mothers requiring privacy - the first aid staff will let you use the ambulance/caravan on request.

We recommend that you start your journey on the Watercress Line from Alresford or Alton: From London follow the A3 to Guildford, then take the A31 to Alton or on to Alresford. From the M3 take Junction 9 southbound or Junction 10 northbound and join the A31 to Alresford or on to Alton.
