"what are we doing today?"

The Manx Museum is the Islands Treasure Trove.

Situated in the heart of Douglas there are lots of amazing things to discover. A huge skeleton of a Great Irish Elk, a necklace from a Pagan Lady, Viking swords and whale bones to name a few.

The Museum has a fun series of discovery trails for kids aged 5 to 12, which is a great way to explore the museum and discover the amazing objects in the galleries.

The Bay Room Restaurant at the Manx Museum is open from 10.30am to 4.30pm.

The Bay Room Restaurant at the Manx Museum caters for gluten free and vegetarian diets. All food is freshly cooked and there is plenty of healthy choices.

"Can I have one of those?"

The Heritage Shop at the Manx Museum stocks a unique range of unusual and practical gifts and souvenirs - designed to suit all ages and pockets.

'Manxness' is the theme and a large part of the range of goods have been designed and produced exclusively for Manx National Heritage.

"i need a wee"

The Manx Museum has disabled toilets and baby changing facilities.

The restaurant will be happy to warm milk and has high chairs available.

By road: situated on Kingswood Grove, signposted in Douglas. Follow road signs from the promenade to Chester Street multi-storey carpark. Take the lift to the 8th floor and walk across the foot bridge, head straight on for the main entrance (185 yards/170 meters).

By foot: Walk to the rear entrance of Chester Street multi-storey carpark. Take the lift to the 8th floor and walk across the foot bridge, head straight on for the main entrance.

By bus: services to Douglas commence from Ramsey, Port Erin, and Peel. Within Douglas, take any service from the Central Bus Station which stops at the Rosemount (max 5 minute journey). Then, walk down Windsor Road to the main entrance (260 yards/240 meters).

Steam and electric railways: all stops to Douglas.

Horse tram: disembark at the Gaiety Theatre.

Disabled car parking available.

The route from the car park to the entrance is accessible to wheelchair users – the disabled parking spaces are directly in front of the main entrance.

Wheelchair accessible toilet facilities are available on the ground floor.

The museum is fully accessible to wheelchair users with assistance. Guided tours can be arranged for visually impaired and blind visitors and large format information about the site can be provided. Registered assistance dogs are welcomed.
