Making it! discovery centre - lots of fun and excitement - design and text your own fizzy drink - what will it be? Chicken Flavour - Yuk!! There's light boards to explore designing, lots of materials to test - soft and yucky, bendy stretchy, soft and fluffy or rough and toughy.

Virtual pods, testing pants to destruction, robot challenges, pack chocolates on a conveyor belt and beat the bottle filling machine - can you make your fortune in the Sell it! area or beat the bar code challenge. Build a working model to take home.

Family friendly cafe serving home made meals and cakes. Childs play area within cafe bar area. Indoor and outdoor area for consuming own food. Soft drinks & snacks also available in shop. Free wifi in cafe. Children's "Meal Deals" available on admission.

We aim to satisfy all - lots of our daily dishes suit vegetarians, wheat & nut intollerances etc. Any special requests will be accommodated if booked in advance. All our cakes are made on the premises by Madeline our Catering Supervisor.

Nothing over £5. Pens, pencils, note books, discovery gifts/build it yourself kits. We also sell the kits that are available to make on the galleries.

Making It! Discovery Centre: From A60 Nottingham Road north bound ‚– turn right at Sainsburys onto Baums Lane and left at T junction ‚– next left and park in Water Meadows. All directions follow Brown tourist signs to Water Meadows/Making it! discovery centre. Park in Water Meadows. Bus and rail 5 minutes walk.

Buggies welcome - 2 wheelchairs available for hire (no charge). Family friendly cafe - with family friendly prices.
