Machinations has something for everyone, a play barn to bounce off energy, a rabbit village where you can feed and stroke the animals and the model museum where you can turn handles, push buttons and watch everything work.

There is a café with a full and varied menu of drinks and meals and a snack bar attached to the play barn for greater convenience. We run model making workshops and parties by arrangement but there is always a painting and modelling table set up for creative work both in the café and in the play barn. There is also a ping pong table room which can also be used for other group activities.

All our meals are home cooked using fresh ingredients. There are meat, vegetarian and vegan options. We can usually cater for most special dietary requirements but with a little prior warning we can offer more, We do not serve chips or any deep fried foods.

Mainly toys with a creative theme, puppets, games and kits. There are also lampshades, bags, jewellery, second hand books and greetings cards.

We do not sell baby food but are very happy to warm milk and food that parents and carers bring.

Llanbrynmair is on the A470 halfway between Newtown and Machynlleth. It is next to the river bridge in the centre of the village easily recognisable by the big red dragon in a tower beside the glass fronted building. There are regular buses along the route, nearest train stations are Caersws and Machynlleth.

We are buggy friendly, mud friendly, paint and glue friendly and bike friendly. There are outdoor seating areas for sunny days and for dogs. The building is mainly open plan so, whilst we ask parents and carers to supervise there children at all times there will be plenty for them to see and do within view of most areas.
