Longdown Activity Farm
Activities start at 10.30am with bottle-feeding the calves.
Throughout the day, children will get ample opportunity to meet the animals during activities such as bottle- feeding kid goats and small animal handling with rabbits, chicks, guinea pigs and sometimes even piglets!
Don't forget to see the cute Kune Kune pigs and hand feed the friendly ducks. There are plenty of other farm animals around the farm to meet:horses, donkeys and cows to name but a few.
Our five indoor and outdoor play areas will keep the children amused along with ride-on toys and our popular bumpy tractor and trailer ride. (Weather permitting). Pony rides during holidays and at weekends for under 8's. (Extra charge. Height and weight restrictions apply.) Don't forget to check our website for details of our fabulous event schedule, which runs throughout the year.
On-site tearooms serving hot and cold drinks, light refreshments and ice-creams.
We will do our best to accommodate any special dietary requirements.
The gift shop sells a large range of toys, gifts, books, cuddly toys, farm souvenirs, gifts, and cards.
Also, don't miss the Longdown Farm Shop, which has a large range of delicious locally sourced produce.
Disabled toilets and a baby changing room is available. Also a quiet room for nursing mothers.
We have a small range of branded baby foods. Facilities are available for parents/carers to warm bottles and infant food.
We are just off the A35, between Lyndhurst and Southampton. Coming from the east, leave the M27 at J3 and take the M271 signposted Southampton and the Docks. At the end of this stretch, turn right onto the A35 towards Lyndhurst and Bournemouth. Continue for about 1.5 miles and then follow the brown signs, turning into Deerleap Lane before reaching Ashurst village. Coming from the West, take the A35 through Lyndhurst and then Ashurst. Follow the brown signs from then on, turning right into Deerleap Lane. From the North take the A326 towards Waterside. Follow the brown signs and turn right onto the A35 towards Ashurst Free parking.
The Farm is buggy friendly. You may want to bring wipes, but there are ample hand washing facilities around the farm. Although some of our activities are inside, wellies and old clothes are advisable for wet days when transferring from one activity to another.
Spent an excellent (and very sunny) day at Longdown - very compact site. Obviously lots of animals but plenty of other attractions and space to picnic. Good shop, cafe small - recommend take your own picnic and then at least a hot drink is available. The tractor ride (no extra cost) is very bumpy but we went straight back on to sit on an even bumpier part of the trailer!! Staff were really pleasant.
Plenty of hands on animal feeding available all through the day. Our little boy preferred the toy tractors and go karts, trampolines, indoor/outdoor play areas and hay barn. Quite resonably priced and parking is ample. Definitely one to do again another year.
