Logie Estate

"what are we doing today?"

Across the drive from the Steading, beside the play area, is the start of one of our river walks.
The path, suitable for all ages although not recommended for wheels of any sort, leads down to a viewpoint above the river and from there to a variety of routes depending on how far you want to walk.

The River Findhorn Heritage Centre opened in 2003 in response to the demand for information about the River Findhorn and, in particular, the legend of Randolph's Leap and that of the Wolf of Badenoch who lived for some years in the Lochindorb castle.

The exhibition is divided into three parts - the first part is about the river: based around a mural depicting the change in terrain, bridges etc with illustrated stories from Thomas Dick Lauder's Moray Floods and other river tales. There is also information on the unusual geological formations at Randolph's Leap. The second part explores the tales of Wolf of Badenoch, Randolph's Leap, and Sir Alexander Grant, who lived at Logie House at the beginning of the 20th century. The final part is a model white house including a box bed and other furniture from local crofts; Giles Pearson, one of the trustees, has sourced some very interesting bits and pieces which all help to bring the room alive and provide a fuller picture to the visitor.

Also on site is a farm shop and gift shop as well as other facilities. Visit the website for more details and information.
