This hands-on interactive experiences brings the reality of the railways over the last 200 years fully to life. The museum celebrates Shildon's history as one of the world's oldest railway towns. The first passenger train on the first passenger railway in the world left from here in 1825.

We do strongly suggest you ring Locomotion before you set off on your family day out, just to make sure they are open and to confirm admission prices, there is nothing worse than disappointed kids in the back of your car after a long journey.
