Local Haunts Portsmouth offers a fantastic chance to see the city from a new perspective, on board ‘Alf', a lovingly restored London Routemaster Bus, accompanied by a friendly tour guide! They operate throughout the year, with bus trips, walks, and talks during the day, plus late night Ghost Bus Tours and Tours by Twilight in the evening!
Enjoy history brought to life through storytelling, including the darker side of the city, you will discover secrets you never knew! Once on board Alf, you can settle down and enjoy the experience, as your fully qualified tour guides reveals different aspects of the city, as they take you back in time and learn about the history, humour, and hardships of Portsmouth. What better way to discover the exceptional past, and the magic of this maritime heartland? You can hop on Alf at any of the Local Haunts bus stops, starting from the Royal Marines Museum car park at 13:30.
Older kids (12 years and up), and adults can choose the chilling and thrilling Tours by Twilight, with a costumed guide providing tales of spooky secrets, gruesome ghosts, and ghastly goings on! These tours are private booking only, for a minimum of 15 people, and can be on foot or by bus, and even include ghost stories by candlelight!
