Llangollen Railway
Llangollen, DenbighshireAbout Llangollen Railway
Come down and meet Thomas and friends at Day Out With Thomas, 17th - 19th April!Llangollen Railway is a heritage railway located next to the historic Dee Bridge that journeys through the picturesque Dee Valley to the town of Corwen.
The entire length of the line follows the river Dee, which is classed a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), plus the railway is located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which is clearly evident as you meander through the valley.
The view from the carriages is ever changing, with sights such as lambs in the springtime, and multi coloured leaves falling in autumn. A great way to discover how travel used to be.
The railway runs diesel locomotives as well as steam hauled trains, plus heritage railcar services on selected days throughout the season. Well behaved dogs are allowed to join the family for just £1, and assistance dogs travel free.
They have special days such as Thomas Days and Santa Specials, check ahead for details of what's coming up.
Most of the trains have a specially adapted carriage for those with mobility problems, and ramps are available to help passengers on to them.
