Leighton Buzzard Railway
The Leighton Buzzard Railway is the place to go if you like old steam engines with long funnels, loud whistles and lots of gleaming brass! You will be transported back to a different era, as your train chuffs its way slowly past people's houses and out into the countryside-holding up the traffic at level crossings on the way.
Don't forget to wave! While your engine is given coal and water at the far end of the line, you can relive the long-lost days when Leighton Buzzard's quarries sent out hundreds of thousands of tonnes of sand each year, over the line you have just travelled on.
And see the diggers, locomotives and wagons that were used.
This is also a great place to have a birthday party on the move, and to meet Santa every December!
Page's Park: buffet serving hot/cold drinks, ice creams, snacks and cooked meals. Large public park alongside for picnics and play. High chairs available for our smallest customers. Stonehenge Works: craft shop also sells hot/cold drinks, biscuits, etc.
Page's Park buffet has a range of healthy eating options.
Everything from Thomas and Chuggintons books and models to DVDs of steam trains around the world, at the Page's Park shop. And don't forget the Craft Shop at Stonehenge Workds station, for distinctive souvenirs or presents, made by local crafters.
Toilets at Page's Park and Stonehenge Works stations. Wheelchair-friendly toilet at Page's Park.
Nappy-changing facilities at Page's Park station, with high chairs available in the buffet. Ask the Guard to look after buggies and prams during the journey, especially if the train is busy
From the A505/A4146 Leighton Buzzard bypass, turn towards the town at the roundabout signposted "Narrow Gauge Railway". Follow brown steam train signs through two further roundabouts, and the entrance to Page's Park station is on the right, alongside the park itself. Arriva bus service D1 runs from the main-line station (London Midland & Southern) and town centre to Page's Park, but does not operate on Sundays or Bank Holidays.
Check departure times on our leaflets or website, and arrive in good time for your train, especially on busy days. There is limited weather protection on the platforms, and on some of the coaches, so dress for the conditions. Adult supervision of small children and pets is essential for their safety, and everyone's enjoyment.
