Hailed as a refuge from the flashing lights of Southend this is a quiet sandy beach revealing mudflats at low tide.
When the tide comes in it is excellent for swimming, windsurfing and sailing, but has no lifeguard cover at any time.
Immediate facilities are good because the town sits right next to it.
