The Laing Art Gallery has something for everyone to enjoy. A dynamic exhibition programme brings an exciting variety of art to your doorstep, while fun learning events encourage even the youngest of children to get involved.

The Laing prides itself on its temporary exhibition programme and it has brought paintings from around the world to the North East.

The impressive permanent collection can be enjoyed throughout the season with dynamic landscapes by John Martin and sculpture by Henry Moore. The learning team are on hand throughout the year providing talks from leading contemporary artists and fun hands-on activities for families. Many of these events, like the gallery, are free of charge.

The Laing Café provides a relaxing environment in which to enjoy a good selection of hot and cold meals, drinks and snacks.

By Public Transport: The Laing Art Gallery is only a five minute walk from Monument Metro station. The gallery is well signposted from the station. Parking is available behind the gallery and at the nearby NCP car park. Spaces are limited and charges are around £1- £2 per hour.

Visit the Under Fives's Area at any time of year. Children love this fun play area, which helps them to discover more about art with the aid of a dressing up box, games and puzzles.
