There is a large, free car park located at:

The toilets at Clayton West are located on the ground floor with level access from the main entrance near to the Ticket Office/Shop.

However, due to the size and nature of their trains, they can only transport folded pushchairs and prams so long as they fit in one of their empty compartments.

Unfolded pushchairs and prams can be stored in the Pushchair Park at

Clayton West Station platform if necessary and collected upon your return.

Well-behaved pooches are very welcome at Whistlestop Valley on general admissions days and are permitted to travel free of charge on the Kirklees Light Railway. All they ask is that you book your dog a ticket.

Dogs are allowed inside the facilities (except the playgrounds and jumping

pillow) and their eateries but they must be kept under control and on a

short leash.

Whistlestop Valley asks for dogs to be left at home during special events.

The Firebox has all your seasonal produce that is fresh and oh so tasty! You'll find is at the main building in Clayton West and hot food is served until 4:00pm, please make sure the order is in 20 minutes before food stops.

The Turntable is found at Shelley Station and offers a range of takeaway ice cream and desserts.

They have lots of picnic benches at both Clayton West and Shelley sites where you may eat your own food.

Whilst there is wheelchair access to all public areas of Whistlestop Valley,

we regret that they are unable to provide wheelchair access on the trains.

Foldable wheelchairs can be transported on board, however they recommend that wheelchair users email Whistlestop Valley prior to their visit.

Yes, Whistlestop Valley requires all guests to purchase a ticket, which can be done in advance on their website.
