Kippys Paint Your Own Pottery
We are a 22 seat studio but can accommodate up to 28 on the ground floor by special arrangement and we also have a party room on the first floor which can seat a further 16 painters.

We stock dozens of ready to paint pottery shapes known as ‘bisque’, from functional items such as plates, bowls, mugs, jugs and vases to fun and ornamental pieces such as money boxes, figurines and animals.
After you’ve finished painting your piece we will glaze and fire it in our kiln. You can collect it in a few days or we can post it to you for a small charge.
We also provide children’s parties and group bookings.
Why not capture your baby’s foot or hand print on a piece of pottery and keep them forever! These commemorative pieces are hugely popular as gifts for relatives or friends. Clay imprints of hands and feet can also be made in soft earthenware clay which is then shaped, dried and fired. Then they are painted in a colour of your choice, glazed and fired again to produce a pottery plaque.

Although we do not offer drinks or food, we are well situated near many cafes/restaurants and shops if you wish to buy food or drinks.

As well as the pottery, we sell sand animals, framed cross stitches and other gifts and locally made crafts. We also sell Kippy’s Gift Vouchers.

We have a spacious toilet on the first floor which includes a baby changing table.

Sorry we have no baby food or milk warming facilities at Kippy’s. We welcome breastfeeding.

Kippy’s is situated within the pedestrianised area of Ashford town centre. We can be found next to the rear door of McDonald’s or if you are walking from the main High Street we are located to the left of Merchant Chandler down the passage known as Chapel Mews with Xpress computer games shop.

We suggest you allow 1 to 2 hours for your visit. Younger children (7 and under) tend to paint more quickly than older children. If you are a group of 6 or more we advise you phone us first to reserve a table to ensure you all sit together. We have disabled access to the shop and painting tables, and storage space for buggies and pushchairs.
