Kew Gardens (RBG)
Explore over 300 acres at Kew Gardens and uncover tropical rainforest, treetop adventures and woodland creatures.
To burn off some energy, children will love Climbers and Creepers. At this unique interactive indoor and outdoor play area, children can wiggle through tunnels like a field mouse or slide down our giant pitcher plant. Suitable for children aged 3 to 9, during school holidays you can also join in with free children's activities.
Spring is the perfect time to visit as you can enjoy a brisk walk or relaxing picnic amongst 5 million flowering bulbs, the biggest display of seasonal colour in the country. Don't miss the latest addition to the Gardens, the Xstrata Treetop Walkway, which allows you to climb high up into the treetops, 18 metres above the ground - a fantastic way to see Kew as you never seen it before and walk amidst the tops of lime, sweet chestnut and oak trees.
Kew has six glasshouses, each with different climatic zones. Children will love looking down on the world's tallest indoor plant, the Chilean wine palm, on the Temperate House aerial walkway. Behind the Temperate House, the Evolution House guides you through the evolution of plants over 3,500 million years. Kew places special importance on engaging children at a young age, and educating them, so that a new generation is excited and engaged with caring for the environment.
There are four cafes/restaurants within Kew Gardens, each offers their own style of food and ambience. Our special children's boxes allow you to pick five of your children's favourite items from sandwiches to fruit, crisps, juice and cake. The White Peaks caf© near to Climbers and Creepers has a menu ideal for children. Picnics are welcome in the Gardens, except at the cafes or in the Glasshouses.
Vegetarian options available.
