Kerr's Miniature Railway

"what are we doing today?"

Kerr's Miniature Railway has 6 engines with two being steam! The steam engines only run on a Sunday and if the sun is out, but are a great treat for children! You can sometimes get your picture taken beside the engine!

The railway also has a bus and fire engine where children can have a ride in along the promenade.

This always puts a smile on their faces! Also when on the train, try and look out for the many birds that live at the railway!

After a short ride, you can then go to the nearby play park, beach or have a picnic on the grass beside the railway. Children enjoy looking at the engines in the shed over the fence.

It is best to see the railway on a warm sunny day when the atmosphere is bright and can make your visit very enjoyable! The railway also has a shop where you can buy 'Thomas' gifts, bespoke railway items and trains toys (so bring your pennies). There are toilets in the park near the entrance, so make sure you take your children there first so they are not crying 'I need a wee wee!' There is also lots of parking spaces available at the entrance to the park.

PLEASE NOTE that the postcode given is to get you as close as possible, not necessarily the exact spot, but it will be visible from here!

"Can I have one of those?"

'Thomas' gifts, railway items and KMR gifts.

"are we there yet?"

Kerr's Miniature Railway is just off the A92 and can be reached by either direction. Turn off when in Arbroath at the signs that say 'West Links Park' and 'Kerr's Miniature Railway'. Arbroath railway station is walkable from the park with regular train services. The number 39 and 73 buses also stop across the road.

...got any top tips?

Kerr's Miniature Railway is best to be seen on a sunny day and has many things on which so can spend your well earned pennies! Buggies can be stored at the railway whilst you are having a trip. The train can't take wheelchairs, but they can be parked at the entrance of the railway.
